SZA and Keke Palmer falling back to chemistry from 2022 Saturday Night Live episode
In a brand-new buddy comedy created by Issa Rae, SZA and Keke Palmer will relive their 2022 Saturday Night Live chemistry.
The as-yet-untitled movie, which was revealed by Deadline on Friday, April 26, is directed by fellow Rap Sh!t director Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton. A release date and other information have not been disclosed.
SZA will make her acting debut in the film, but not before showing off her skills as a musical guest and co-host of the December 2022 SNL episode with Keke. The SOS singer has been thinking about “a number of projects, and the opportunity to reunite with Palmer was too good to pass up,” according to Deadline.
Keke responded to the news by writing, “I CANT WAIT!!!” in an Instagram post that included a screenshot of the article.
Regarding music, SZA recently declared that she will be starting over when creating Lana, the deluxe version of her SOS album, after some of the songs that were supposed to be included in the project were leaked by fans.
The “Snooze” singer voiced dissatisfaction with the tracks doing the rounds on the internet in since-deleted posts to Twitter/X in late March.
“Well, let’s keep this really simple,” she wrote. You guys leaked three of the deluxe album’s songs. You may now put the leaks and throwaways away. I’m going to start “Lana” from the beginning. Never question me about it again. I’m grateful.
“I’ll round up the leaks y’all already got and u can have those,” she wrote in a follow-up post. It looks like a good deal. GLADLY
The TDE artist heightened anticipation for Lana earlier in the month by releasing a sensual teaser video.
“Never fight over community D,” the TDE artist wrote as the caption for a video she shared on Instagram including a sneak peek at a new song.
The images that went with it showed her playing around in a tent-like area while just sporting a red bikini.
For some time now, SZA has been hinting at a follow-up to her highly successful sophomore album.
